Office / Premises Security Check-list

It's not just watering the plants in the office that you need to remember. We've put together a security check-list to help keep your office/premises as safe and secure as possible whilst it's vacant during Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.

Do you know who has access to the office/premises?
Are they storing keys / key fobs in a secure place?

If possible deactivate access to fobs for employees who don't need to access the office at this time. Remember to make sure any other fobs from previous employees are permanently deactivated.

Visit the office/premises frequently (once a week ideally) to check the following... don't forget to maintain social distancing.

  • All electronic equipment is switched off (don't forget to turn off fridges and leave doors open!).
  • Securely store any hard copies of personal details.
  • Keep all fire exits clear - even though the building is empty these must still comply with fire regulations!
  • Test alarm and CCTV systems
  • Make sure all windows are kept closed and secure.
  • Remove any cash or valuables from the office.
  • Make sure any laptop computers and other portable devices such as tablets are locked away.
  • If it's possible to do so we'd recommend changing the password with your security control room on a monthly basis.
  • Finally, make sure any entrances or exit gates are locked (except fire exits) and check the perimeter fencing if applicable to make sure it's secure.

If you're not able to visit your office/premises at this time but you have concerns about its security, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will arrange for one of our team to visit the premises on your behalf.

Body Temperature Screening Solutions

In light of recent events we are seeing an unprecedented demand for information on our Fever Screening solutions.

Hikvision is a world leading IoT solution provider with video as its core competency it's perfectly placed to introduce an innovative range of products to the industry to help stop the spread of Covid-19 and keep you and your colleagues safe and well.

With the talk of lockdown restrictions being relaxed in the coming days and weeks, it's important for businesses to get as prepared as possible for the fight against Covid-19.

Body temperature screening technology is a sure way to ensure the safety of business customers, staff and suppliers.

With advanced detectors and algorithms, Hikvision’s Temperature Screening Thermographic Cameras are designed to detect elevated skin-surface temperatures, and can thus be used for rapid and preliminary temperature screening in office buildings, factories, stations, airports and other public places, with accuracy up to ±0.3°C.

Some of the unique features include:
- One second to detect skin-surface temperature of a person
- Multi-person detection simultaneously
- Non-contact measurement to avoid physical contact

--Hikvision's innovative body temperature screening solutions could be the answer

- Immediately alarming to notify operators
- AI detection to reduce false alarms from other heat sources

Watch how the Hikvision technology works below.

We've included an infographic that details the different products and how these work together to deliver the body temperature screening solution.

Slow down the spread of Covid-19... it's time to rethink door access systems

Public health experts, designers and architects say the Covid-19 pandemic has exposed fundamental flaws in the design of buildings that risk spreading a second wave of coronavirus, and possibly even new pandemics.

The pandemic has sparked calls for the introduction of building codes and design innovation for all future structures to comply with infection control measures, with greater input from disease specialists in construction projects that often see the design stage as a chance for cost cutting.

One of the biggest suggested innovations includes designing access/exit systems that don’t require human contact.

OSS have recently launched a touch free door exit device (pictured above).

Made from durable stainless steal with a IP65 rated infra-red switch. The device is designed for use in applications where it is necessary to open a door without physically touching a button. This helps limit the transference of dirt, disease or infection making the device perfect for the current challenges facing businesses when the lockdown restrictions are relaxed and businesses begin to try and return to a new normal.
