It's fair to say that 2019 has been a great year for OSS. That said, without the support of our customers it wouldn't have been possible. So this is our opportunity to say a big thanks!

We've got you covered in 2020...

It's fair to say that 2019 has been a great year for OSS. That said, without the support of our customers it wouldn't have been possible. So this is our opportunity to say a big thanks!

Highlights of the year include the team and a few friends taking on the heights of the Sa Calobra climb.

We had plenty of account wins - Sovini Property Services and a restaurant chain with famous Golden Arches to name a couple!

Our commitment to Cyber Security was recognised with the cyber essentials accreditation.

And not forgetting OSS Security had a face lift with a new refined logo, the introduction of a residential 'hot pink' brand and to mark the evolution in true style the launch of a 2019/20 campaign 'Got you covered'.

At the heart of the campaign we commissioned an illustration that featured on our new website and the introduction of a new fleet of vans.

We can't wait for 2020 to build on the success of this year. We look forward to working with you soon and in the meantime do not hesitate to get in-touch.

Finally - keep your eyes peeled for the launch of Promus - our lips are sealed.

Here's to wishing you a Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year. Cheers!

What they can't see - they can't steal

2019 saw OSS launch Fog Bandit - a different approach to the whole issue of securing property against burglary and theft.

Traditional security systems protect your business by acting as deterrents and strengthening your perimeter defences, to prevent access to the property.

But what happens when traditional defences are breached?

Response times by the authorities can be anything from 10 minutes to…?

Burglaries are typically completed within the first three or four minutes of entry.

Intruders know they can be ‘long gone’ well before the authorities arrive!

--Fog Bandit in action

As Tamara Ecclestone experienced on Friday - today’s criminals confidently and effectively utilise this response time as their ‘window of opportunity’ to perpetrate their crimes and get clean away.

But with Fog Bandit - high speed fog is immediately activated on entry or detection of an intruder and quickly closes this window of opportunity – what they can’t see, they can’t steal!

Fog Bandit releases a huge plume of fog protecting an entire room in seconds.

"4K opens new horizons in Video Security"

See everything, miss nothing...

With extraordinary 4K technology

4K Video Security is about to transform 2020!

It's set to deliver major benefits in the operational efficiency for monitored CCTV whilst providing peace of mind that you can now see crucial details you’ve never seen before.

A must have strategic investment – 4K means you can survey a wide range of activities, from vandalism and theft to suspicious unattended objects – accurately identifying human faces with unprecedented clarity at any time of the day or at night.

Monitored CCTV Systems - Police Response

As the year has progressed, we are being made aware by more and more police forces they will no longer respond without a URN to sites (as stated in your original quote) unless 101 is called as the non-emergency number. EMCS, our monitoring station, in all instances has attempted to call on this number but there has often been a huge delay. In the new year this is changing again. The English constabularies are changing their policies regarding contact from an ARC (Alarm receiving Centre).

From the 31st March 2020, English constabularies will no longer accept all calls from monitoring centres and as such, EMCS is changing their policy to match. Over the coming months, they are changing their response they take and by the 31st of March, they will only be able to contact the police if a CCTV URN is held on record.

In reality nothing will really change as the deterrent of the monitoring station issuing an audible warning to a would be intruder is still 95% effective and you will also have the back up of your intruder alarm which does have a URN, which in turn will gain Police response. To be able to apply for a URN for your CCTV system some costly changes will have to be made to your CCTV system, if you would like to know more then please contact us.

Going forward, If criminal activity is witnessed, our monitoring station will immediately advise a you/keyholder to contact their local force (999).
